Once upon a time...
There was a game designer called American McGee who having lived a life of dramatic ups and downs, decided to present a unique take on a selection of traditional fairy tales as a Table Top Card Game, Illustrated Book, Coloring Book, and Collection of Art. He hoped the lessons contained within might help others along their journey through the dark woods of existence.
With the success of this campaign we'll deliver a wicked card game, beautiful illustrated book, twisted coloring book, and turn "Out of the Woods" into an ongoing series of games, books, and original art.
Don't be eaten by wolves. Get Out of the Woods!

Out of the Woods Re-Print & 2021 Comes Early
over 4 years ago
– Thu, Oct 29, 2020 at 08:59:34 PM
Dear Woodies,
American here with an update after... OMG it's been over a year! Actually, I was just going to skip 2020 altogether because, well, you know. We should all just skip 2020! But here we are, at the end of October 2020, and we've almost completely sold out of the original print run of Out of the Woods (card game).
That's right! The 5000 copies of Out of the Woods that you helped bring to life are now down to the last 70 copies. And that means it's time for a re-print and re-release.
But first... Out of the Woods has enjoyed a successful post-Kickstarter run. Thank You! You helped bring to life a unique card game that's brought happiness to many a family - especially during this era of lockdowns and stay-at-home orders. You might not be able to get out of your house but at least you can get... Out of the Woods!
So about the re-print... Here's where YOU come in. We'd like to know if there are any corrections you'd like to see made. Any critical typos or errors that need to be addressed?
Including that link will allow us to dynamically update rules and FAQs in the future - knowing that people with the new instruction book will know exactly where to look.
Let us know in the comments if there's anything else we should edit in the printed Instruction Book (or elsewhere).
We look forward to your feedback!

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Art Prints AWAY!
– Wed, Mar 20, 2019 at 12:33:59 AM
Dear Woodies,
We're really pleased to see so many of you sharing your Out of the Woods games, books, and play mats around social media. Your images do a fantastic job of showcasing the design and artwork of the product we worked together to build. Thank you!
And pretty soon you'll have more great art to share because...
Art Prints Have Shipped!
Art Print Shipping
I do have to apologize for it taking so long for these to ship out. Between the Chinese New Year Holiday, prep work for Pirate Jam 2019, and the massive crush of art/white rabbit orders from our Patreon backers. Signing, packing, and shipping nearly 1000 art prints in the last few weeks... We've barely managed to keep up!
So, I thank you again for your patience and understanding.
If you're expecting an art print, you should see it in your mailbox around 30 days from today. There are tracking numbers assigned to each shipment so if a month has passed and you've not seen your print, please feel free to PM us so we can track it down. Give it until late-April, yeah?
Discount on Illustrated Books!
We're running a promotion over on Mysterious until the end of the moth:
Hit THIS LINK to set a reminder over on YouTube for this week's livestream.
This is scheduled for 10AM on Thursday the 10th Hong Kong Time.
That's 6PM on the 9th in Los Angeles.
We'll respond to your questions and suggestions about "Out of the Woods" and talk about the future of the series. We'll also talk about those areas where we screwed up - could have done better - delivered as we'd hoped - or nailed it... and how the lessons learned can be applied to future projects and campaigns. Your feedback and support are very much appreciated in this process!
Be sure to get all your QUESTIONS and SUGGESTIONS into the comments below!
One of the projects we're currently exploring as a potential Kickstarter campaign is turning the "Alice" license into a Tarot Deck. Many of you have expressed interest in this idea and we'd love to hear more from you about what this might look like as a Kickstarter.
Based on your experience with "Out of the Woods" - your thoughts on tiers, rewards, process, and anything else related to a new campaign. At the top of my list would be "set a realistic delivery date and don't be a year late!!" What's on your list?
We'll collect your comments from below and address them during the stream. You can also join us live and throw your questions at us via SuperChat if you want to buy Lulu a few treats! ;)
